Coding
Our task was to code a light and robot show. We spent a couple weeks learning how to code and how coding and circuit works. When we believe we understood it we started on the task. My group consisted of me, Spencer, Eric, and Mickey and we attempted to code the lights to be synchronized to one of our favorite songs darude sandstorm.
As you can tell by all the fancy flashy lights we worked very hard on this project and had a very nice outcome. We would share the code with you but the code is really long and is about 1800 lines of code which is equivalent of 77 Microsoft word pages. If you write code or know any one who has written code then you might know how fragile it is. One of biggest issues was that sometime while writing code we would forget a semi-colon and would end up not being able to upload it and we would have to go through the entire code looking for our mistake. Another issue we had was getting the lights to be synchronized with the song but to fix that we just had to do a lot of tweaking. Overall the project went very well.
Added Concepts
circuit- closed loop of conductive material connecting one end of the power source to the other end.
voltage- the "push" of energy through a resistor, a potential energy difference. It is measured in Volts.
resistance- It is an obstacle that makes it more difficult for the current to travel through a circuit. It is measured in Ohms.
current- the "flow" of electricity measured in Amps.
Ohm's Law- V=IR, Voltage = Current x Resistance.
Kirchoff's Laws-
Current: The sum of the currents going into a connection must equal the sum of the currents leaving the connection.
Voltage: The sum of the voltages around a circuit must be equal to zero.
parallel- It is independent to other bulbs and the current has multiple roots it can take.
series- It is dependent on the other bulbs and the current has to go through multiple resistors in a row.
